"Der Geist hinter dem Gesicht" (The mind behind the face) Painting

Dark thoughts surrounded by stigma behind the face of a beautiful woman. For as long as humankind has celebrated and reputed the creative powers of the mind, we have been forced to confront the darker side of the imagination. That would be our own mind. The human mind is dark and twisted, thus some of us enjoy that, sometimes those thoughts become so mortifying, abashed and frightening that we lock them in the subconscious, not thinking about the repercussions. We keep living under the big shadow of denial, even though we know its dangers. There have been thousands of years of philosophical debates on behalf of dark thoughts, morality and ethics. Socially, we've been forced to supress these feelings, although they knew that it will turn us into machines. But some of us, the lucky ones, learn to embrace them, to let them out, and this is the concept of my painting. It's the moment an Individual embraces the dark thoughts as they are a part of him, that even if supressed, will still be there, making us frustrated. The suppression of thoughts, dark or light, good or bad, sad or happy, is a big factor in today's mental disorders.
