About The Artwork

This artwork belongs to a series called "Natural Flags", which are landscapes inspired by the work of landscapers, they can also be from trips I have made, or by photographs of places I have seen in magazines, on the internet, reading, listening to music. .. This flag or landscape of more or less abstract shapes has a white background because it represents a sunrise. The artwork shows us a maritime scene, some dunes in the foreground and we can see the sea in the background, as well as a small land cape where there is a lighthouse. For me, a painting is like a book, that is, it has a cover, in this case the image on the surface of the painting, but you have to read the book, enter the painting, to see the theme in its entirety and not stay in the superficial. A beach can look like a desert, there are dunes, and in those dunes there is vegetation that, despite the harsh conditions, manages to survive and even shelter living beings such as grasshoppers, spiders, beetles, etc. They survive for long periods of time without much water. Many times these dune shrubs grow separately, isolated, like islands or oases within the same dune, but they have some connections, which is surely the water that the dune houses inside. On this beach, A Frouxeira de ValdoviƱo, there are many dunes with vegetation. It is a beach that is kept in a fairly wild state. In summer there are some young lifeguards whose job is to rescue people that the current in the sea carries them into the sea. That is why along the beach there are a series of wooden posts driven into the sand that have loudspeakers on top to warn of the dangers of the beach as well as other recommendations. For example, if the sea is very rough and rough, they put up some red flags and say that bathing is prohibited on the entire beach. Sometimes the sea is not made of water and is of information, but still we also need people to help us when the current takes us. No frame needed, but recommended.
