About The Artwork

From the logbook of an expedition into space: "Grizmo this dilettante, he had ONE task. A single @#$%&! task. And he blows it up!" rumbled a dark voice angrily from off-screen. Trilly was dizzy and she looked nervously at the chaos. The other animals floated weightlessly in the space beside her. It had flung her into the open when the evil Grizmo had bombarded the fairy with slugs and the sacred diamond had slipped away from her in fright. "No wonder, @#$%&! Astronaut helmet! Now all the slugs are stuck to it!" thought Trilly. Weird Pilbo, the co-pilot with the hip, colorful disco outfit had lost control of the spaceship and the funky Dancing Man with the cool sunglasses had been thrown explosively upward (although no one knew exactly where up was and where down was). Everyone was hoping that the fairy would grab the diamond before Grizmo stole it. Because that would mean that the fairy never could replenish her fairy dust with the help of the diamond and therefore would loose her superpowers. Tell me how the story continues! Or what do you recognize in this picture? This painting was painted with love on Lake Maggiore. You can watch this painting on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FndPudiBKZ0 GERMAN Aus dem Logbuch einer Expedition ins All: „Grizmo dieser Dilettant, er hatte EINE Aufgabe. Eine einzige @#$%&! Aufgabe. Oder was erkennst du in diesem Gemälde?

With my art I want to make you smile. My paintings radiate joy and ease. Together with the stories I write for the big formats they stimulate your fantasy and invite you to step into my playful world. Hello, I am Suraya Baumeister, born and raised in Heidelberg (Germany) in 1976. I studied landscape architecture in Kassel and Palermo and after living in Karlsruhe for a few years, I moved to Switzerland, to Lake Maggiore in 2010. During my studies (1997-2004) I started to paint abstract, preferably with a spatula. My individual painting style started to form in 2017. The abstract paintings I do are acrylic/mixed media on canvas. I paint them intuitively. Through the abstract painting I get inspired to draw the faces, figures, mythical creatures and elements. What stories do you see in the paintings?
