About The Artwork

A part of ‘I swallowed a box of fireworks’ Series created in 2021. This body of work shows a glimpse into my thought process, mirroring the interplay of past and present, imagined and tangible, that which is lost and what remains. Fundamentally, there is a sense of void and echoing emptiness in the pieces, which opens up the viewer’s senses to the restless nostalgia in which the memories, experiences and emotions dwell. The distinctive forms that consolidate on the surface of the canvas are spatial, spherical, and intentionally dispositioned at times. They float in an atmosphere effortlessly and sometimes merge with an utter simplicity. -- Diptych: I swallowed a box of fireworks 120 x 150 cm (each) Acrylic on canvas

Pamir Kargin, b. 1991 I paint to examine multiple dimensions of playfulness, particularly how it relates to public and private self-representation over the years. My abstractions mirror the interplay of past and present, imagined and tangible, that which is lost and what remains of one's self-projection, rather in a dynamical, whimsical manner. My concentric, contrasting and often cylindrical compositions include repetitive geometric shapes and solid textures that offer a glimpse into my painting process. Primitive, childlike forms continuously merge and split in complementary canvases, sparking a dialogue between time and notion. The multi-layered character of my technique contemplates my love of multi-piece canvases, giving the viewer a sense of distorted centralization while interacting with the works.
