From my Abstract Memories series, 2019 This impression of work explores the dichotomy between what was and what is and how, with factual representation or evidence, we can recall fleeting or pivotal moments of our lives through photographs and memories. At most, we wouldn’t have recalled many instances of our past if we didn’t have a reminder such as a captured image to bring them back to light. Some are bold and straightforward, some are blurry and vague, each having shaped us into the person we are today. Hanging material attached

Arielle Austin, a Los Angeles native, is an abstract artist and facilitator based in Austin, Texas. Austin’s process based work explores the intimate relationship between subject and viewer with layers, texture, and details. It’s a practice in staying present, while resolving abstract plays on color, composition, and texture. In experimenting with this process, Austin compels the viewer to take a closer look - to become intimate with the art, resembling our very own human nature and desire. To be fully seen and known.
