Distracted Mind Painting

I’m a Bulgarian self-taught artist living in the Czech Republic. After a 30-year career reaching the peaks of corporate finance, I wanted to escape rigid, controlled environments and freely express myself.   When I paint, I can drift into a meditative state; my singular focus becomes the painting itself. No multitasking, no rush, no stress. Mindfulness in its purest form. My process is intuitive and spontaneous. Sometimes my work takes on a life of its own and alters my original intentions. My paintings draw influence from abstract, minimalist and surrealist styles. I create images based on memories, night dreams and emotions.   Watercolor and ink are my preferred mediums. They ask me to let go, be patient and to stay focused - although occasionally, the control freak in me speaks out and I have an urge to draw ink border lines.   I have a lot of lived experience to reflect upon. I’ve travelled and continue to explore the world. Sometimes, I withdraw into nature to clear my mind, while other times I dive into bustling cities to soak up their energy. Along the way, I enjoy visiting galleries and museums to find inspiration. Website:
