About The Artwork
Popular game in the Caribbean, full of life, energy and emotion. A playful challenge for me is the concept of the painting where the base begins as a giant domino tile with the black spots/line down the center and the ivory background. According to the number of spots, I create a story or picture on top of this domino, using the spots as objects (heads, sun, coconut, large domino spots). As the game is usually an animated event in the Caribbean, I let movement happen with wacky perspectives and crazy dynamics.
