ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This painting is part of an ongoing series called Chameleon in which I play with the idea of connection to one's surroundings. These pieces reflect both interior and exterior spaces and often a combination of the two. Many of these paintings wrestle with the need to identify and yet not completely losing oneself. The background in this piece is influenced by old master landscape etchings. I enjoy a good narrative and in this painting Donald is finding he feels rather good about himself. The bow tie did the trick. This painting is edged in the med gray color of the background. It is varnished and titled, signed and dated on the back. It is also wired to hang.
