Inspired by my love of 1950s and 1960s ads and part of an ongoing group of candy and bubble gum paintings, Hand painted in acrylic on stretched cotton canvas and built up from many layers of paint in order to arrive at a very flat and smooth final work. Unframed with D rings screwed to the stretcher frame so ready to hang.

I was born in 1952. Originally from London I've lived in St.Ives, Cornwall UK for over 30 years. I began painting in the 1970s and have been exhibiting since the 80's, I studied briefly at the Hammersmith school of art in London. I've always been fascinated by the Golden Age of popular culture & some of the imagery that finds it's way into my paintings comes from this period. I find the distance of time brings about a poetry that greatly appeals to me and which I would describe as nostalgia without sentimentality.
