Ebru is a traditional Turkish painting art, and is defined as painting on water and transferring the painting onto paper. This style came later in the 17th century to Europe. The technique is known as water marbling. Originally, water colors are spread on sea weed liquid. Nummela uses water and alkyd and paints over it. The resulting effect is very original and inspiring. The technique is usable not only on paper, but also on canvas and metal plates.
