Art Description

Painting: Oil, Acrylic, Monotype, Graphite and Paper on Wood and Paper.

Painting, mixed media technique on wood panel, 2016

This is one of the most significant paintings of my last production.
Within the context of different cultures and their own attitudes, Drowning Sorrow in Fountayne Road is part of an itinerant project between London, Berlin and the cities I have been living in the last two years.

The Series "Considerations around a City" started with the aim of catching the spirit of the pop culture characterising the different places I have been. Always with an influence/reference and an eye into historical elements, this project bring us into the contemporary reality of everyday life, objects and habits, questioning the value of little things, comparing random ordinary situations to religion icone, subjects or art historical styles and compositional elements.

Biographically speaking, I am particularly attached to this piece as it has been produced in really difficult conditions and in a special moment of my life.

Keywords: portrait, realism, renaissance, london, pop culture, mixedmedia, monotype, city, conceptual, expressionism, gesture, green
