About The Artwork

After moving to a new country I was not able to avoid a psychological crisis. During that complicated period of my life, I created a series of paintings under the title "Too Human". In my opinion, a person is a weak and sentimental being, unable to cope with himself and his resentments. The series is dedicated to the crisis of my personality, which has fallen to the state of kind of "Too Human". These few artworks are the only autobiographical ones out of all my art. In this work, I establish a reference to Frederick with his romantic heroes dominating the elements of the ocean or standing against the backdrop of a beautiful sunset. Only here I depict not a “hero”, not an “antihero”, but "not a hero". The weak will, fragility, confusion, all of this is reflected in the rickety structure of the old house, which the character is staring at.

From very early childhood, everything in my life is connected to painting. At the age of two, surprisingly to my parents, I drew an airplane. From that very moment, my artistic education began, and it continues to these days. At a certain point, I became very interested in classical painting. So, I started studying the painting techniques of the old masters such as the lighting technique of Caravaggio, composition of Ruben"s artworks, drawing techniques of the Renaissance masters. I have copied paintings of Raphael and David. In order to expand and deepen the learning process of old masters' painting, which I have become greatly fond of, and improve my professional skills, I moved to Florence, Italy, the main city of the Renaissance. Having the opportunity to see original classical painting every day, I copied them a lot, comprehending the secrets of the old masters. In my art, using the method of academic painting, I bring upfront topical, often polemical issues of our time. The plots of these works are the collective unconscious, technology, and the future, feminism expressed in myth, psychoanalysis, and criticism of the authoritarian masculine principle. These days I am a full-time artist, I do paintings, and teach painting and drawing classes. I continue living in Florence, a city that inspires me.
