Jose Sintnicolaas

About the Artist

Jose Sintnicolaas

Netherlands

José Sintnicolaas, born in Eindhoven, began her artistic journey after a successful career in the corporate world. She decided to attend art school in Belgium to master traditional painting techniques and discover her creative voice.
Her extended stay in Asia had a profound impact on her work. After witnessing the large-scale pollution and deforestation in the region, she felt a pressing need to use her art as a tribute to the Earth. This led to her series "Earth," in which she creates abstract landscapes that are not only visually stimulating but also contain a powerful message of sustainability and awareness.
In her studio in Tilburg, she works with natural materials such as (gem)stones, glass, sand, and rice paper, adding texture and depth to her paintings. She invites the viewer to create their own interpretation of her work.
Her love of nature, instilled in her from a young age, motivated her to raise awareness of sustainability through her art. This pursuit has led her, among other places, to Wageningen University & Research, where she has exhibited by invitation.
Her works have been exhibited across several continents in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore, the Netherlands, and Belgium. During her residency in Italy, José participated in the Florence Biennale.
José is represented by galleries: in Knokke by Gallery Woussen and in Antwerp by Gallery Living Stone Art and in Tilburg by Gallery SEB.
Her works can also be found at the Hilton Hotel Old Town Antwerp through Gallery the Living Stone Art.
