ABOUT THE ARTWORK

One of my other finds out in the desert southwest is the Easter Lily cactus flowers. They bloom off the end of a prickly arm the grows off the cactus. They are delicate and feather-like. I put lots of detail in this painting to show all the little characteristics this beauty has. An AWARD WINNER is this original acrylic on a 16"H x 20"W x .5"D gallery wrapped canvas, signed front & back, painted on the sides, wire and ready to hang. The flowers look like feathers and I used various shades of magenta to show the variance of color. Created & copyrighted in 2010. Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and Artist Bio. Price for the Original: $395.00

Carol has been a professional artist for over fifty years, mastering calligraphy, watercolors and now acrylics. She studied at the Cooper School of Art in Cleveland, Ohio, and took many private classes but considers herself to be a self taught artist. Using lots of detail, layering bright and bold colors and sometimes a touch of humor, has won her many awards. She continues to win awards today. She has been published and has a painting in the Postal Museum of the Smithsonian. She will be a featured artist with the Mayo Galleries in Arizona later this year. Carol likes to draw the viewer into her paintings using her particular style. She loves nature and enjoys painting flowers, land/seascapes and some abstracts. She applies a lot of layering in her paintings no matter the subject matter. Always wanting to improve her skills, she taught herself how to use the palette knife. Her latest series of Moon In Africa Series is a fine example of those bright colors contrasting with the moon and the animal silhouettes. Most of her paintings are available in print through and through It is an honor and a privilege that Carol has been invited again to be a featured artist with the Mayo Clinic Galleries in Phoenix Arizona beginning in February 21,2023 to May 23, 2023. Her main goal with her art is to make people smile. "Life needs more joy and a painting should give the viewer joy. A happy painting is my way of giving back to those who view or buy them".
