ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Everyone has this one favorite flower or quite a few favorite flowers or the whole garden of favorite flowers. For me, it has always been echinacea. Why? I have no idea, because obviously is not the most gorgeous one. But, it is a healing plant from the prairies which magically attract butterflies and bees and it has a feisty, rebellious spirit, which I was trying to showcase in this painting. This piece was created with ink, acrylics and watercolor on a high quality Fabriano paper.

Art represents for me a perfect, nuanced language that allows me to tell a story. Searching for balance between abstraction and figurative painting, I love reinterpretations of old masters, but also deconstructions of city images and landscapes. Being vegeterian since childhood I am also a believer in strong bonds between different creatures, such as people, animals and flowers, a belief that I am trying to convey through my paintings.
