"Egret Pair No. 1" Painting

After graduating from the Atlanta College of Art with a BFA in 2004, I set out to pursue a career as an artist. My first job in the art world was as a graphic designer. While it was great experience, I was not passionate about it. Then, by chance, I got a job at a fine art restoration studio as an art conservator. Unexpectedly, I had found my true calling! After becoming an expert with years of experience in the field, I decided to open my own restoration studio in Valrico, FL in 2013. Years of restoring other artist's work made me realize it was time to add my own art to the business and resume painting original work. Juggling both pursuits can be challenging at times, but it has given me a different perspective and insight into creating my own work. I had been admiring and absorbing the color palettes, painting techniques, and stylistic choices of thousands of artists for so long that I began to use this in creating my own work. I have utilized what I have learned from centuries of artists and their paintings, coupled with the skills I gained in graphic design, to inform and improve my paintings. As for subject matter, I have been inspired by the natural beauty of Florida's wildlife to create my pieces. I now have collectors all over the globe, have shown my work in galleries across the South, and have created commissioned paintings for private collectors, interior designers, and business throughout the US.
