Painting: Acrylic, Ink, Gesso on Canvas, Wood.
I woke very early one morning and could not sleep for thinking about my next step with this painting. This is when this painting really began. It is a pure and creative exercise of spontaneous line and shape that I began when I ran out of patience to begin. The resulting imagery is from the energy and freedom to express. Solving colour until it was done. An elephant interestingly appeared in the mix of shapes, and at the same time this painting had evolved into something tribal or primal. There are so many 'accidental' animals and images in this work.
Edge painted, wired and ready to hang.
