A long, narrow painting format has interested me for some time. I enjoy creating them because the long ratio presents a creative challenge, which I love. This format is quite versatile in any living area. My mission with this painting was to create an experience of color and texture that resonates with vibrational energy and a sense of movement. I want to breathe life into the usual abstract impressions of landscapes. The idea is to evoke long-buried memories of places and times and portray a sense of time. At the core of my work lies the exploration of the Abstract Landscape inspired by personal memories of extended car trips as a child. My painting process employs layers of harmonious colors and rich tactile textures to create a mesmerizing fusion of visual and sensory delight. This painting was created on canvas stretched over three 12x12 frame bars, using only the highest quality acrylic paints and has been varnished for UV and dust protection. The sides of the canvas are painted black. This painting is ready to install and does not require a frame.

Expressing Nature's Energy with Color & Texture Shirley Williams is a Canadian artist living and working near the US border, best known for her abstract paintings focused on layered color and tactile texture. Color and texture convey emotion at a subconscious level. Shirley Williams paintings combines these two elements to evoke associations with the energy of landscape and nature. Nature alters our consciousness and lift our spirits. In the same way that being in nature energizes us, her intention is to express this subtle energy boost through paint. Shirley Williams grew up moving often across Canada and Europe, inspired by art in every city. She worked in Toronto for many years as a documentary film producer until 1991 when she began painting full time. Her paintings have been exhibited and collected widely in both Canada and the US.
