"Empress of Bloom" Painting

I’m Sibel Çolak. Art is not merely a form of expression for me—it is life itself. I have been immersed in painting for nearly 20 years, and for the past 12 years, I have worked professionally, devoting every day to refining my craft and discovering deeper ways to express what lies beneath the surface. My journey began by studying the great masters of the past, tracing their footsteps, and seeking to understand the essence behind their timeless works. Today, I continue to create with passion, forging my own authentic visual language.

My portraits center on humans and animals, capturing the unseen layers of emotion, soul, and identity. In each brushstroke, I seek to reflect a trace of life; in every color, a flicker of spirit. Flowers are a recurring motif in my work—symbols of the soul’s elegance, fragility, and longing for freedom. By combining animal figures with floral elements, I aim to reveal the sensitivity that lies behind strong, resilient bodies. Through these symbols, I strive to make inner silences, the pursuit of freedom, and identity struggles visible.

Working primarily with oil and acrylic, I constantly challenge myself both technically and emotionally in each piece. For me, originality is not just a style—it is a way of being. Every act of creation reflects an inner transformation. I am currently in an intensive production phase as I prepare for my upcoming solo exhibition in my own studio.

Even in moments of despair, I know that with every piece I create, I come closer to my dreams. The connection between artwork and its audience is one of the strongest motivations to live and to keep creating. I am deeply grateful to everyone who sees and values the soul behind my work.
