Enfin Des Galettes ! Painting

Sharing and caring, food, ideas, resources... My mother, with her Swiss heritage and love of art, spent time with myself and my brother, in the Winter months, reading us fairy stories which were often in wonderfully illustrated books. The Germanic influence and the William Morris Arthurian were not separated by my growing childhood curiosity.....They became as entwined as the leaves of the worldwide illustrations for children grow on a spiralling stem. The illustrated religious and historical books also fed into this source, You have recognised the 'innocence' depicted in many of my creative endeavours......one could say that after 'my fall from the state of grace'. I wished to return to a point of sharing new values that had previously been excluded from my visual vocabulary. The generation of hippies and the present generation of climate activists, fill me with hope for the future of mankind. An awareness of unity and simplicity, community and individuation are the factors that inspire me......the narrative is ongoing and the wee kiddies thrive on narratives....story tellers!
