Inspired by the concept of entropy, the artwork reflects on transformation and the hidden value within disorder. I hope it evokes curiosity and inspires reflection on how disorganization can give rise to new possibilities and patterns. I used treated cardboard to emphasize the simplicity of the...

Theo Gomes, born in 1982 in Pernambuco, lives and works in Rio de Janeiro. He is a visual artist and multidisciplinary designer. With over 20 years of experience in advertising, he has extensive expertise in design, interactivity, and creative processes. He works in a wide variety of media, including installations, drawings, paintings, sculptures, and digital art. Throughout his career as an art director, he has created for renowned brands such as Tim, Oi, GSK, Shell, Coca-Cola, and many other prominent companies. His artistic journey is marked by an ongoing pursuit of detail, contrasts, and simplicity. His works are based on a balance of abstract memories, feelings, and sensations, as well as a reimagining of material usage, influenced by his creative childhood and origins. His inspiration is minimalist, abstract, and timeless, resulting in creations that transcend time and trends. Artist Statement In my artistic journey, I seek essence and uniqueness, drawing inspiration from the most unexpected details. Recently, I created a series of paintings using sugarcane pulp as tools: brushes, paint rollers, and stamps. These unconventional tools allowed me to explore unique textures and details, bringing my work to life in an exceptional way. I am driven by the exploration of contrasts and simple beauty, aiming to harmonize memories, feelings, and sensations. Each line, color, and shape is carefully selected to convey a timeless message, creating a dialogue between past, present, and future. My approach is an ode to the transformation of materials, finding beauty in the ordinary. Within abstract minimalism, I experiment with geometric elements, discarded objects, and vibrant colors. I invite everyone on a journey of contemplation, where each piece reveals the complexity behind simplicity, capturing the beauty of the universe around us.
