Eros is a Greek word that means physical desirefull love.
In Greek mythology, Eros is the Greek god of love and sex.
According to Hesiod's Theogony (c. 700 BC), one of the most ancient of all Greek sources, Eros was the fourth god to come into existence, coming after Chaos, Gaia (the Earth), and Tartarus (the abyss). In later myths, he was the son of the deities Aphrodite and Ares.

For me eros is a creative force that directs most of human actions and intentions. It is a decicive polemicist who attacks in order to reinvent life.

This artwork is the first one of a series of artworks I made on synthetic canvas, intending to explore new materials to work with acrylics.

Welcome to my studio. I am Paraskevi - a Greek woman, architect and visual artist. Through years of artistic exploration, I have developed a distinctive personal process, resulting to the creation of a unique visual language that invites the viewer into a metaphysical aesthetic experience. Using various sources of inspiration, spanning from Abstract Expressionism and Color Field Painting to Minimalism and Arte Povera, I engineer a perception as well as an allegory of space by combining continuous lines with abundant color. My body of work consists of perplex compositions created from gestural brushstrokes and a primarily intuitive process. In these paintings the lines are dominant but there is no intention for structure. Via the mapping of the lines, the colors themselves are transformed into the structural part of my artworks. This is my signature style and I invite you to explore it with me.
