Euphoria and Dysphoria Painting

I've used sunflowers in the composition for several reasons. Sunflower it self, and the colour yellow symbolize happiness and joy. The composition is made up of a pot that contains several fresh flowers and a few dead flowers. The colour yelllow not only represents happiness but also madness. As this painting is be inspired by the famous "Sunflower" series by Vincent Van Gogh. Vincent Van Gogh used to eat yellow paint because he thought it would kill him, that's what he thought was better for him. Many people thought he was mad and stupid for doing so because the paint was toxic, they didn't know the truth,but conciderring how unhappy and dissatisfied with he was with his life that he tried to paint the walls of his internal organs yellow, it all made sense. It's really no different than any other thing we do . There is a greater risk in everything but people still do it everyday because there was always that chance it could make things better. Everyone has their yellow paint. For me it's more like a combinatiom of Euphoria and Dysphoria. The fresh flowers show Happiness and the dead flowers show the Madness. Life is no fun with any one of them missing. I myself, find satisfaction in both.
