ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This painting is on two canvases, it is reversable! A haboob is a dust storm and wind all in one. I tried to show how the downdraft of the wind comes in and how the dust forms this billowing cloud. So when you hang this two piece painting you see one view. When you switch the canvases, left to right and right to left, you get the other view. This was an experiment for me. It took a lot of planning and thinking before I even put a brush to the canvas. I spent a great deal of time to accomplish this task. TaDaHHH! I did it! I love this painting and consider it one of my best. The colors will capture the viewer and then they will be amazing when you reverse the canvases. Because my home is my gallery I have this painting hanging above my sofa and everyone loves it. Time to sell it so I can do another one with that concept.

Carol has been a professional artist for over fifty years, mastering calligraphy, watercolors and now acrylics. She studied at the Cooper School of Art in Cleveland, Ohio, and took many private classes but considers herself to be a self taught artist. Using lots of detail, layering bright and bold colors and sometimes a touch of humor, has won her many awards. She continues to win awards today. She has been published and has a painting in the Postal Museum of the Smithsonian. She will be a featured artist with the Mayo Galleries in Arizona later this year. Carol likes to draw the viewer into her paintings using her particular style. She loves nature and enjoys painting flowers, land/seascapes and some abstracts. She applies a lot of layering in her paintings no matter the subject matter. Always wanting to improve her skills, she taught herself how to use the palette knife. Her latest series of Moon In Africa Series is a fine example of those bright colors contrasting with the moon and the animal silhouettes. Most of her paintings are available in print through and through It is an honor and a privilege that Carol has been invited again to be a featured artist with the Mayo Clinic Galleries in Phoenix Arizona beginning in February 21,2023 to May 23, 2023. Her main goal with her art is to make people smile. "Life needs more joy and a painting should give the viewer joy. A happy painting is my way of giving back to those who view or buy them".
