About The Artwork

When i started this painting i had no idea which direction i was going until things just started falling into place. I was listening to the Radiohead song "Everything in its right place" at the time so i thought it was fitting that i call it that. I tried to merge the different styles and mediums to create a cohesive funky artwork. The reference for the skull was taken when i was living in Paris and painting metallic skulls, i nestled a chrome skull in between some roses in a flower shop. The air-con and lights can be seen reflected in the skull and the pink in the skull is the reflection of the pink roses which i made more graphic. I used oil paints for the realistic part of the skull, UV spray paint for the background and UV acrylic paint for the rose parts of the skull as well as UV markers. I also used 24ct gold leaf for the rays going out from the skull and made it look more rustic to add texture. I have included a photo of the painting under UV light. This painting should be stretched on a round stretcher but i have left enough black around the painting to stretch it on a square one if need be.
