Painting: Oil, Acrylic, Paint, Marker on Wood.
This is one of many in a series of paintings based on my daughter who I have been painting over her whole life. She is my most frequent art model. Sometimes the paintings are more portrait oriented, although many times such as in this surreal painting, the figure becomes more generalized and representational of themes of childhood and discovery, dream and imagination, fantasy and abstraction. I hope that the viewer will enter this world in such a way as to take a rest from the common and everyday, and to be filled with inspiration and an uplifting energy. My paintings explore a balance between the figurative and abstraction. Process and paint manipulation are as important as imagery and story.
