ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Many of my paintings have been inspired by my daughter who I have painted many times over her lifetime. Some of the paintings of her are expressive portraiture, while many become more generalized and lyrical figures of their own. This painting is one of a series of several large paintings exploring themes of time, memory, beauty, surrealism, and connection. The imagery is a mix of realism and abstraction where process and paint texture are as important as representation and story. I hope that the viewer will feel inspired and enter the dream space that this painting offers. I hope that the viewer's energy will be invigorated by spending time with this painting.

My art studies began on the west coast of Canada before moving to New York City to train at the Art Students League from 1997 to 2002. Currently living and painting in Niagara, Canada, my paintings have been shown across Canada, in New York and Washington D.C., and in Sweden, Norway, and Trinidad. The figures in my paintings look out as much into mindscape as landscape.
