Rustic motives. Village Series Inspired By Travel to the remote village of Ishlya, Beloretsk district. I spent every school vacation among wooden houses, cattle, dung, hay and villagers. 15 years later, I returned to Ishlya, this journey into the past inspired me to create a series of paintings dedicated to the Russian village, in which there is no mobile connection at all, and from civilization only light. I am very worried about the topic of pseudo holy people, it is not for nothing that they say that the most dangerous mask is this mask of mercy. By the will of fate, I just read the Armenian folk tale “Anahit” and there was a holy character who did not even step on the floor so as not to accidentally crush some bug, his servants put bricks for his steps. The whole city worshiped him, carried their gifts and respect. But as it turned out, this “saint” is worse than the devil, forcing people in his dungeon to work for his good, and who could no longer, he left to die without water and food. So much for a holy man. How was he exposed in a real fairy tale, but how many such people are there in the real world? When they smile, they say kind words and reason piously, and behind their backs they hold their trident and hide their tail with hooves. In the works, the author explores the boundaries of the picturesque coloristic reception of plane writing. In an emphasized decorative, detached manner, everyday images of people are transferred from a real portrait to illustrative material. The author captures social changes associated with the processes of digitization of reality. With the advent and development of digital communication technologies, the artist deconstructs the genre of a realistic portrait into a digital copy, which has illustrative impersonal properties. The author of the paintings has extensive experience in international exhibitions, her paintings are kept in private collections in different countries of the world. I carefully pack my paintings in a tube using quality materials for transportation. A certificate is attached to the picture. For all questions, write to me, I will answer with pleasure)))

Elena Romanovskaya is an artist from Russia. As an artist, I am interested in the space of play that arises between my art and the viewer. There are no winners or losers in this game, but there is excitement and going "beyond" - to where I create my worlds and invite them on a journey through them. This game is not so much entertaining as it is immersion in the moments of being. My “instruments” are genre intensity and inflamed color, which I “pick up” from Expressionists.
