ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The narrative of each painting is unique. It is created by wood grain patterns which are different from piece to piece. Wood texture remains surface of an unknown planet, a cosmic landscape with rocks, valleys, lakes and rivers. A series of dark paintings is created on burned wood panels. This effect underlines natural wood structure dramatically and makes the colors much more intensive.

WISH I WOOD ART is a creative duet – Alexandra Falishtynskaya (painting) and Daniil Nebo (wood carving) – focused on exploring the interaction of wood textures and colors. Our interest as artists lays in the field of investigation of human artistic culture through the prism of nature and as a result it's expression with abstract paintings made in mixed media technique. Using different tree species WIWA shows that nature is able to create any forms of art pieces imitating man-made figurative and abstract paintings. We believe that nature is the greatest of artists. What kind of art is primary – human or natural – is the question we aim to answer with our works. All of our panels are crafted by hand, each unique in its own right, never to be replicated. This individuality forms an opposition to multiplying media images created with the help of digital tools, a representation of modern visual culture.
