“Fabric” 1 and 2 are part of a limited series, which addresses the imprisonment of one of China's most known artist and activist, Ai Weiwei. While imprisoned the only thing Ai Weiwei could do with his hands was wash his clothes. The series incorporates themes of laundry, cloth and Chinese imagery. “Fabric” 1 and 2 both depict circles or sequin-like forms against a dark background. Both paintings have a sense of movement as the paintings' forms that move across the canvas as if they are caught in a flow of water. The paintings are is stretched on a frame and are easy to hang.
