Last February 22, 2021, I was waiting for the Select bus on Fifth Ave., to go downtown. I had an appointment with my accountant. There was a lot of traffic. As I stood on line, I looked at the trees going down the 70's up to where I was standing at 79th and Fifth Avenue. In recent years, some trees were rotted and fell on two people and died. When I looked at 79th Street, I couldn't believe what I saw. I got out of line and walked to the cement wall, separating Central Park from the sidewalk. Around 30 feet in and 20 feet high there was a human head imbedded in the tree branches. At first I thought Big Brother is watching but they would use cameras. So many thoughts I was cancelling out. It can't be projected in the tree. It was a man's face, with tree bark around it, with eyes, nose mouth and skin. The only thing moving, was large eyes. The eyes were rolling around and taking in everything. The movement of the eyes, the face, have never seen anything like this.
At the same time I felt frightened. I walked back to the line and wanted to ask the man behind me, if he sees what I see but didn't. Note: from the line I could see the face high up in the tree. It was looking at everyone on the line and surrounding area. Turned my back to it and the bus came.
People just don't look up at the sky or even lower and around them. They are in their own world.
When I get up to it, will go back to see if it's still there.
*** I came to the conclusion, it can happen again in a different area but there has to be a lot of activity going on.
Yesterday, I was out and looked at trees in my neighborhood, it wouldn't be here but where there are many people. If I see this the second time, so many thoughts go through my mind. Think about it.

Today, March 27, 2021, walked over to Central Park and looked for the face. The face was not there but I noticed where the face was, many trees were rotted and will have to be removed. **Painted on Canvas Board **Certificate Of Authenticity included.

Artist Statement - My main emphasis has been to create my own way of painting. I had the basics, but went into new areas by instinct. Description: From the early 1970's I developed my own style that I called Expansionism--everything I sense I expand (that certain something, hunch, instinct, thoughts, feelings, emotions, beliefs). The inner dynamics (the inner world) of the subject expand beyond its outward appearance, and into the environment (divine matrix, the field, nature's mind, mind of god, quantum hologram). Two places science got it wrong. 1. The space we believe is empty is really not. It is full of a living material, pulsating essence. 2. We may experience inside of our bodies that influence the world beyond through the conduit in this space. *** Note: Another aspect of "Expansionism" When you look at a glass on the table, what happens? The glass expands and is another way of seeing. Elissa is in many private collections throughout the world. She has a wide range of subjects, erotica, fantasy, humor, interiors, landscapes, moods, nature, patterns, people, places, and still life.
