ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This painting was inspired by the passionate faith of Joan of Arc and other folks who feel called to do good works. I hoped to capture the feeling of connectedness to a Divine power and purpose on Earth. The armor and helmet are European plate armor from the 1300's which calls to mind a dark time of ignorance but I'm inspired by the Renaissance that soon followed. I strive to make our time also a flowering of learning, tolerance, peace and creativity.
