Since 2016 I have been working a lot with Gouache and watercolors, often mixed with eggtempera or oil to give the paintings more layers and more depth. Ultramarine blue has always been important to me, blue in general is a color with many meanings. Last but not least feeling blue is an emotion. The colors of this painting shine light and airy, the landscape can be seen as abstract world, where the eye likes to wander around and find interesting spots to look at. You can either see a colorful seascape with waves and sea or you could think of a more spiritual dimension to nature and the world. 80x80x2cm. Gouache, Oil and Oilpastels on Canvas. Signed on the back with certificate of authenticity, ready to hang with hook on the back. Looks great with silver or white floating frame. Based in Germany, Gesa Reuter’s artistic practice started in 1996. She has since studied the techniques of the old Dutch masters, layering selfmade gouache, egg tempera and sometimes oil to build her paintings with different layers of paint from thin to thick. Recently she has discovered the power of watercolours and ink in her work, enjoying the way the watery materials leave marks and traces to describe her inner feelings and emotions. Rather than painting an accurate visual representation of a landscape, she prefers to use the power of memory; her artworks are an expression of her feelings and emotions in the moment of experiencing the landscape." (Inside Artists, Issue 9, Summer 2017) So far, her works have been exhibited in Germany and Europe, mainly sold to private collectors in Germany, U.S.A., UK, NL, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, to architects, small companies, private medical and psychological practices. In public collection of Amateras Foundation, Bulgaria, NHS England and Kunsthaus Stove, Germany.
