About The Artwork

It is a sad reality that we have spent so much time and resources on destruction and violence instead of using them to better the lives of humanity. The concept of an "egosystem" where we prioritize our own needs and desires above the well-being of the planet and its inhabitants is a dangerous one that has led to the destruction of our "ecosystem." It is unfortunate that co-existence, or the ability to live together peacefully, is not something that is commonly practiced in our society. The emergence of new viruses, such as COVID-19 and even the newer ones, is a reminder that we are all interconnected and that the actions of one of us can affect the entire world. These viruses do not evolve overnight, but rather through a series of stages and processes that give us time to prepare and strengthen our immune systems. Despite these challenges, I hold hope that we can re-establish harmony on our planet. I hope that whatever the new difficult time would come, we will learn to come together and support one another, rather than isolating ourselves in fear. I also hope that we can rise above ideas of right and wrong and find common ground where we can work towards a brighter future for all. I have created this painting inspired by a quote “Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I’ll meet you there"- from 'A great wagon', by Jalal ad-Din Rumi. I name this painting "Field and Hope." It depicts a field where we can meet and come together, beyond the surface-level-separation and boundaries of wrongdoing and rightdoing. I am continuously trying to explore and perceive a field of unity and understanding, where we can find our common hope and work towards a better future for all.

I create abstract artwork. My abstract creations give me the freedom to satisfy my compassionate perspectives in connection with my spiritual relationship. I was born and raised in Bangladesh. In my adult life, I settled in Australia. Bangladesh gave me the opportunity to grow and learn in abundance; Abundance of love and belonging feed my compassionate views as I experience the lives of disadvantaged people. I migrated to Australia in 2012 to continue my postgraduate studies in Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences at Adelaide University. During this time, I gained a more global perspective. I started painting again after a long break. My educators, people I met from all over the world and my pedagogical recognition helped me to grow a step further. Then I emigrated to Sweden with my family. In Sweden, I experienced an extremely harsh cold winter and an incredibly beautiful summer that felt like halfway to heaven. This time has been phenomenal in which I have made some wonderful friendships. I met friends, some of them from whom I learned about the horrors of hunger and horrors of war. As I continued to create my artwork, I found much encouragement and recognition for my work during my time in Sweden. From an early age, I have seen hunger, the pain of loss, the forms of exploitation, the pain of human life, the wounds of human mind. My life experience has made me sensitive to people. In order to survive, I had to choose my means of expression. I paint and write poetry as a medium to express myself and my perceptions. I am a little wanderer on the path of life. Difficulties, grievances, and all superficial differences aside, we all need to translate our available feelings. Despite the events of the world, the sudden emptiness of the heart, the customs, the responsibilities, the rules and regulations, the words that cannot be ended, life has its own path. Getting caught up in the whirlpool of life again, I remain unclear to myself. This is where abstraction comes into my paintings, there are abstract forms of nature and dreams, there are the abstract experiences of myself wandering around in search of the land of dreams through many of my journeys.
