Melanie V. Temme is a contemporary visual artist who creates a link between the modern art world and traditional craftsmanship with ‘Meistermalerei und Malermeisterei’. Born into a traditional craft business, she developed a passion for the art of painting as a child.

In her artworks, she masterfully combines painting, varnishing and gilding techniques. She uses palette knife techniques and colour gradients to create both abstract and representational works that open up new perspectives depending on the distance from which they are viewed. Her preference for gilding is reflected in her unique colour and material combinations. She also developed her own technique, the ‘Venetian blind technique’, from her crafts, which enriches her works with a special depth and three-dimensional structure. Another central theme in her work is the role of women, inspired by her experiences in a male-dominated industry.

Melanie V. Temme is a visual artist who has also celebrated success in the world of performance art. Her sophisticated style, characterised by red hair and red lipstick, makes her an unmistakable personality on the art scene.

She has taken part in numerous exhibitions, including Artfairs in Paris, Strasbourg and Luxembourg. Her first solo exhibition ‘Ma Dame’ took place in Karlsruhe in 2019, followed by other major exhibitions in Germany and France as well as purchases in the public and private sectors. Voluntary work and donations are also part of her commitment.
