The painting is part of the 'Elements' collection in which the artist confronts and lets himself be inspired by the four elements: earth, air, water and fire. The work is performed on canvas. This is protected on the surface by a layer of protective varnish. On the back is the artist's signature.

Irene's research starts from an interest in the interior spaces of residential and non-residential buildings. Rooms, workplaces or places of transit, subconciously exercise an active and constant action on us in our lives. The history of inhabited space is also the pecular history of mankind which, from its primordia, initially to satisfy the vital need to find shelter, has now arrived at new possibilities that allow us to develop a complex relationship with it. Space has the power to directly change the quality of our life, to produce well-being or discomfort when modified depending on its structural design, to which is added the other fundamental variable of furniture. The latter is the sum of the numerous and small choices and precautions, indirect effects of the passage of life in space, and of which the aesthetic aspect plays the most important role, being able to unlock its potential. This is a phenomenon of daily creativity that is extended and necessary for everyone. Irene's works are conceived from these dynamics and influences that occurred primarily in their own space of conception and development of the studio. The origin of the painting is therefore not conceptual, but starts from direct experience with the space lived in the first place by the artist; on the other hand, in the same way, the desired effect does not want to delight the mind, but only seeks to arouse in the observer, through its various components, a soothing and calming effect of presence and awareness. This research takes a further and ultimate spiritual meaning behind the effect caused by the work; that of unity which is achieved through the removal of doors and/or windows which are intended as separations that bring disequilibrium.
