Fire Sky and Water Realms Painting

What/who inspired the work? I am constantly rethinking Rothko inspired works and modernizing them for today's interiors. My favorite era of artists is the 20th midcentury abstract expressionists, and I am stuck there for now. I live in a Midcentury house and I go on Midcentury house tours. What do you hope its viewers will feel/think? My hope is that this painting might find the right home in which it ties multiple elements in the room together through the use of color in a pleasing way. Words are unnecessary, but color conveys emotion, mood, and ambience in a room. Each person reacts to color according to their own inner world, and reacts differently on different days. Why did you choose the medium, subject matter, style? Because acrylic work on paper is my favorite way to work. The red ochre background with off-white and deep blue is earthy. This painting is done with a red undercoat which contributes to its vibrancy. Paint has been applied using palette knife and brushes.
