This is an original painting of the iconic traditional fishing hut (Rorbu) that sits at the foot of Mount Olstind in Sakrisoy which is in the Lofoten islonds Norway. As soon as i discovered the Lofoten area in Northern Norway, and came across this enchanting fishing hut I needed to paint this scene. And paint it on a large canvas! I love the way the hut mimics the outline of the majestic Mount Olstind which just seems to erupt from the crystal clear waters that surround the Lofoten islands and its picturesque fishing villages. This painting is 48" x 36" (122 cm x 91.5 cm). I have used acrylic paint and texture medium to create the jagged weathered texture of the rock, snow and ice of the mountain. I used a palette knife impasto style to achieve this. The painting has been gloss varnished and is signed and dated on the back. The painting will be shipped safely wrapped and packaged in a purpose built wooden crate to insure safe journey to your home. Many thanks for viewing my work.
