ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Abstract acrylic and mixed media on gallery wrapped canvas, with back brace, all sides roughly painted, no staples, ready to show. Color field acrylic painting with a heavy mixed media surface element, utilizes a restricted tonal palette. I really have gone all in with a less is more attitude regarding my most recent work. The full arm action painting, as well as the color field work, revolves lately around black and white motifs, with limited color involvement. As always I enjoy a heavy mixed media component which leads to a very stressed out surface. The title refers to this mechanical engineering concept that goes hand in hand with a muted color palette, back to basics form of abstraction that I am enamored with as of late. Flange is a kind of masculine word that has been floating around in my mind for many years, and with this work I finally get to aptly apply it as a title. Thank you for looking. Peace and Love.
