ABOUT THE ARTWORK

My work reflects my deep concern for the environment, focusing on the decline of insects. Using acrylic on unprimed cotton canvas, I explore the fragility of nature and our responsibility in preserving it. I hope to inspire awareness and action through vibrant, dynamic compositions.

I am a Norwegian visual artist whose practice ranges from two-dimensional works like painting and drawing to site-specific installations and performances. I hold degrees from the Art Academy in Sydney, Australia, Einar Granum College of Art, and Westerdals School of Communication in Oslo, Norway. My work has been exhibited extensively across Norway and internationally in cities such as Sydney, Riga, San Francisco, New York, Barcelona, and throughout Denmark. I’ve also had the privilege of participating in numerous Artist Residencies around the world. Over the years, I've been awarded several grants, and my work has been acquired by various public institutions and municipalities in Norway. My artistic process is deeply influenced by my love for the outdoors—whether I'm skiing, hiking, or surfing, these experiences are integral to my work. I aim to infuse my art with the energy I draw from nature, inviting viewers to connect with the natural world through my pieces. I live in Fredrikstad, in the South-East of Norway near the Swedish border, where I work across three studios: a small space (40 m²), a project room (100 m²), and an expansive hall within a shipyard. Recently, I bought a farm north of the Arctic Circle, where the barn will become my new studio. Here, I’m exploring how colors and brushstrokes change with geographical shifts, which is a key focus of my ongoing project, "Belong." This project evolves with each new installation, reflecting my continuous journey as an artist.
