About The Artwork

"Art work that is completely abstract—free from any expression of the environment is like music and can be responded to in the same way. Our response to line and tone and color is the same as our response to sounds. And like music abstract art is thematic. It holds meaning for us that is beyond expressions in words." —Agnes Martin Floe is an ode to living matter, organic, imperfect. A word play between Floe /Flow primarily inspired by the harmonic progression that simply repeats over and over again in the song ‘“Floe” by Philip Glass (Glassworks, 1982). Although rhythmically driven, the melodic implications of "Floe" occur somewhat coincidentally by orchestration.

Jessie Laura is a Peruvian mixed media artist and art director based in San Francisco. Influenced by nature, her mixed media work features geometric and organic compositions that create depth, texture, and movement. Furthermore, abstraction through form, light, and shadow allows her to respond to and engage with contemporary culture’s onslaught of visual imagery. Laura graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design and Film. Working primarily with wood and paper, her latest work navigates the complexities of light and form as artistic medium, physical reality, and aesthetic concept. Using clarity and simplicity as her visual language, Jessie strives to generate the maximum effect on the viewer with minimal media.
