About The Artwork

My art is a constant exploration of the structure of images, using diverse mediums such as drawing, painting, and sculpture to experiment with new dynamics and situations. As a B.A. graduate from SJSU in Creative Arts, I'm always guided by improvisational and intuitive gestures, as I seek to create work that's both unconventional and thought-provoking. While my pieces occasionally incorporate subjective or representational imagery, my primary interest lies in exploring minimal and maximal visual arrangements. My inspiration comes from a range of sources, including science, geometry, chaos theory, universal self-organization, figurative abstraction, music, and modernist mid-twentieth century art. Working in ongoing series of pieces, each with its own unique constraints and influences, I'm constantly pushing the boundaries of space and form, even if I don't always know where I'm headed.

www.victorcharade.com Victor Charade is a North American artist born in San Jose on March 4th, 1970. Victor has lived his entire life in California and currently resides in the bay area. Specializing in drawing, painting, and sculpture, he is fascinated by the possibilities, limitations and absurdities of image structure. His work is inspired by science, structural biology, wave forms, systems, chaos theory, universal self-organization, graffiti, music, and modernist mid-twentieth century art. His art often explores themes of emergence, migration, symbiosis, relationships, dependencies, origin sources, energies, and singularities. Artist Statement My art is about exploring the structure of images in diverse and unexpected ways, at least of what I am conscious of. Whether I'm working in drawing, painting, or sculpture, I'm looking for new dynamics and situations to experiment with. Improvisational and intuitive gestures are a key part of my process. I often, but not always, create work that is devoid of subjective or representational imagery, instead focusing on minimal and maximal visual arrangements. Exploring and investigating in ongoing series of pieces, each with its own unique constraints and influences, including: science, structural biology, energy forms, geometry, chaos theory, graffiti, universal self-organization, figurative abstraction, music, and modernist mid-twentieth century art. Pushing the boundaries of space and form, I don't know what I am doing most of the time, I just know that I have to do it.
