There's something so magical about seeing those colors in the sky sky. No matter how many sunsets I see, I always feel a tremendous sense of awe and gratitude when I get to witness a colorful sunset over the ocean. Have you ever experienced a sunset at Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia? If so, you know that...

My body of work is a love letter to the ocean and landscape of Atlantic Canada. I live in Nova Scotia, Canada, where the ocean is always nearby. I live for summer days spent on the beach with my family, swimming in gentle surf, feeling the ocean breeze and salt air on my skin. There's nothing quite like it. For me, being in or near the ocean is a spiritual experience. It cleanses and invigorates my soul and helps me reconnect with myself and nature. When I am not near the ocean, I miss it dearly. I hear this longing for the ocean expressed over and over again by others who were born and raised near the ocean, but moved inland. There's just something so special about the ocean- it stops us in our tracks with its beauty, always keeps us guessing, and can be as destructive as it is beautiful. The ocean always keeps us guessing and reminds us that we are all a part of something vast, mysterious, beautiful, and bigger than ourselves. For me, it's an excellent teacher, friend, and reminder of the ever-changing nature of life. I have loved the ocean and creating art since I was a child. My passion for art was buried under work and family commitments for years, and resurfaced several years ago when I enrolled in a painting class. Since then, I’ve pieced together my art education by completing a wide variety of classes and workshops. I currently produce art part-time in my home studio and sell my work online and at local shows. I paint in realistic and semi-realistic styles, using a variety of mediums, based on what allows me to portray the feeling and spirit of my subject matter. My current offerings include originals oil, acrylic, and watercolor paintings. I also make prints of selected works.
