I was inspired by the old saying that cats have nine lives. Upon researching where this came from I came across an old English proverb that explained what each of the cats lives are for. The line "for three she strays" stuck with me and i wanted to create an artwork depicting this.

The piece is painted in acrylics on a Loxley deep canvas and is signed. Also varnished so to protect from UV damage and colour fading and give the piece a matte finish. Can be hung with or without a frame.

The dark black background contrasts against the bright orange highlights and deep blue shadows.

I'm a young artist from the UK who specialises in human and animal portraiture. I gravitate towards creating dramatic scenes through the use of lighting, mostly painting in a realistic style but with colours so distinct that it creates something fantastical.
