ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Spending time in the forest at Snaresbrook in Winter just at the point the sun is going down is transforming. The colour in the trees and all around drains away leaving a black outline and only the colours in the sky remain. The sky graduates very slightly in colour from a bright blue near the top to a white blue near the horizon, where the memories of the sun remain. The painting is framed in wood, painted black by me and is ready to hang. Signed, named and dated on the canvas reverse.
