I dream in colour, and in my waking moments I attempt to recreate those dreams on canvas. My paintings are textured layers of mark making, collage, pencil, ink, distressing, and acrylic—non-specific until a suggestion of wildflowers begins to emerge. I focus on negative space and let my imagination wander, as I stroll through my mythical meadow. These “abstract meadows of my mind” form the main body of my work: reality encapsulated in an imaginary glimpse—what the eye might see if the brain did not know. My process is deeply intuitive. I rarely plan a piece in advance, allowing colour, instinct, and feeling to guide my brush. As the painting evolves, so too does the narrative: a suggestion of wildflowers and open fields for the viewer to interpret and stroll through at their leisure. When I’m not immersed in my meadows, I create abstract vases of flowers and looser contemporary pieces—gentler visual detours that offer a fresh rhythm and perspective. My small works focus on abstract watercolours and expressive mark making. As long as I have colour, my mind is at peace. I hope you enjoy meandering through my work as much as I enjoy creating it.
