About The Artwork

A sketches from Cycle People and Sea are in relation to the seaside, to summer time that is connected with vacations and with people to be near sea. In this sketches I'm fascinated: how the sea, seaside and place attract people, how the sea – seaside become summer constancy; a time that cannot be exchanged and is necessary like food: a time to take a rest, to be on the sun, to breathing sea, to swim, to take hours for observing the sea, to be hours on the beach, to meating and talk with people or with family members, to be with childrens, … It is about time near sea: where people drop their uniformity, separation of spaces; it's about the necessity of being near sea and absorbing hours! People do not matter if they are squeeze as sardines in a small place: it does not matter at all: everyone wants their space by the sea: and that's all!

The painting is for me an expression through colour which I use as a main medium. What interests me the most about painting are different approaches and corresponding techniques but its true significance lies in the process itself, in the movement that begins with the installation of objects in the space and evolves through numerous phases/stages of upgrade. In the process of painting I am aware of having to share my work with someone else- a spectator. That’s why I’m also interested in the optical system and giving a spectator the opportunity to be a part of the process. I can say that light and reflexion are present in all my works from different cycles like Forest (1996-2001), Reflexion (1997-2006), Grass (2002-2006), Flowers (from 2006 onward), Sea and Waves (2007-2010), Figures (from 2010 onward) as a cohesive thread.
