ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Lives are filled with tragedies and triumphs, some big, some small; all are weaved together to create a fabric rich with depth, meaning and nuance. But for many, this richness exists mostly on the interior, sometimes by choice, sometimes out of necessity; and for those, observable life happens somewhere in the middle, between the highs and lows; where the outside world never knows the personal turbulence. Directional push reveals the force, fibers entwined with paint tie the threads of the stories to our visceral existence, the weaving of impressionism with iconism and abstraction reveals the complex levels of our psyches, glossing the knots embodies the smoothing of the parts too tough to contemplate, the painted emotions lead to an understanding of the course. This large acrylic sculptural painting is mounted on acrylic panel and framed in a light neutral gray painted frame and structurally reinforced with wire cables strung horizontally and vertically across the back.
