Fruit Basket shows an abstracted organic pattern that I have continued to revisit throughout my career. Inspired by the memory of a summer day spent at Lake Como, lemons and apricots recumbent in a walnut wooden basket. A joyful piece celebrating a moment dear to my heart.

Contact us.Axel Getz is a visual artist based in New York City
Axel studied fine art at Brown University along with environmental science. He continued his education at the University of Cambridge, receiving a masters in environmental studies.
Axel’s work focuses largely on nature and its phenomena. Appreciating the unfamiliar in the familiar, his art aims to emulate the contemplative aspects of the organic through seemingly morphing images and primordial forms. Aiming to showcase the beauty and complexity of the environment, Axel continues to create work that asks: How do we see and remember a planet in constant flux?
Axel had his first show at Winter Street Gallery in Edgartown Massachusetts in August of 2020. He is creating works as a full time artist in New York City for gallery shows and commissions.
