About The Artwork

The expression "Sed fugit interea fugit irreparabile tempus" ("But it flees; irreversibly time flees") was first used by the Roman poet Virgil, in the Georgics (a set of four books). "Tempus fugit" is a Latin expression usually translated as "Time flies" and is engraved on many watches. The painting scene was idealized based on several reflections about time and how certain situations occur simply because of the choices we make and how this can affect the present, the future and the lives of other people. As I reflected about this, that exact scene came to my mind.
